This policy explains how Vellumpoint Exam Preparation handles account, book activation, portal, and practice exam information.

This policy is written for the current Vellumpoint Exam Preparation product and its data flows. We have kept it plain-language; it is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice.
Information We Collect
- Account information, such as your email address, password authentication data handled by our authentication provider, and optional profile details you choose to provide.
- Book and portal access information, including activated book editions, access-code redemption status, activation dates, and access expiration dates.
- Exam preparation activity, including practice exam attempts, selected answers, written responses, score data, question flags, timing information, result history, and flashcard review progress and spaced-repetition scheduling.
- Support communications, including the email address and message content you send when contacting us.
- Technical information, such as device, browser, session, security, and diagnostic data needed to operate and protect the service.
How We Use Information
- To create and secure your account, authenticate you, and keep your portal tied to your book access.
- To provide CBT-style practice exams and flashcard study tools, save answers, grade submitted attempts, show scores and a per-question results review, and display performance history. Detailed answer explanations are provided in the companion book, not the portal.
- To prevent unauthorized access, code misuse, duplicate redemptions, fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To respond to support requests, troubleshoot errors, maintain the platform, and improve study content and product quality.
- To send service-related notices, such as account, access, security, or important product updates.
- To send optional study-reminder and product emails, such as a request to review a book after you pass a practice exam or a reminder if your practice has gone inactive. You can opt out of these at any time.
How We Share Information
- We do not sell learner exam answers or account information.
- We may share information with service providers that help us run the platform, such as hosting, database, authentication, analytics, email, support, and security providers.
- If you buy a book or product through a third-party retailer or payment provider, that provider may process payment and order information under its own terms and privacy policy.
- We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, security obligations, or to protect Vellumpoint, learners, authors, partners, or the public.
- If Vellumpoint is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, relevant information may transfer as part of that transaction.
Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
- We use browser storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember interface preferences such as theme mode, protect sessions, and operate the service.
- We use Google Analytics to understand which pages visitors find useful. You can decline without losing any functionality.
- Google Consent Mode is enabled. Before you accept, Google Analytics stores no cookies or identifiers on your device, but it does send a cookieless measurement signal to Google, which includes the page address, your IP address, and a temporary identifier that is not stored on your device or used to recognise you on a later visit. Google uses those signals to produce aggregate estimates only.
- If you accept, analytics cookies are set so that visits can be measured directly rather than estimated. If you decline, no cookies are set and the cookieless signal continues.
- Your choice is remembered in your browser. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the request will appear again on your next visit.
- You can control some storage settings through your browser, but disabling them may prevent login, activation, or exam features from working correctly.
Data Security and Retention
- We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account, access, and exam-prep records.
- No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for signing out on shared devices.
- We retain account, access, exam, and support records for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain reliable product records.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can opt out of optional study-reminder and marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails. We will still send essential service, account, access, and security notices.
- You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
- Some records may be retained where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, dispute resolution, or legitimate platform operation.
- You can stop using the online portal at any time. Deleting your account may remove access to saved exam history and activated portals.
Children
- Vellumpoint Exam Preparation is intended for professional exam candidates and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International Use
- If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.
Changes to This Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the site, portal, or email.
